Soybean-Based Alkyd Polyester
TRIONOL™ 1739 A is a Lawter™ specialty alkyd. TRIONOL™ 1739 A is a medium oil-length soya oil alkyd that forms hard, tough ink films with low odor. It has better compatibility with hard resins than TERLON™ 7 A and is recommended for low odor inks used on napkins, food cartons, etc. TRIONOL™ 1739 A is an excellent replacement for linseed alkyds in heatset inks whenever it is cost effective to do so.
TRIONOL™ 1739 A is recommended for three-piece flat metal decorating lithography. It has good baking properties on metal with good color retention at oven temperatures up to 370°F. Faster baking can be achieved by adding up to 10% melamine to finished inks based in TRIONOL™ 1739 A.
TRIONOL™ 1739 A avoids the gloss ghosting or yellow ghosting that sometimes occurs in sheetfed inks.
