Hydroxyl functional polyester for metal deco
DECOTHERM™ 260 E is a hydroxyl functional polyester resin dissolved in tripropylene glycol (TPG) intended for use in metal decorating inks printed via spindle printing (dry offset) for 2-piece cans.
This polyester resin exhibits a good adhesion to metals, a very good transfer on high speed presses and a high gloss.
Inks based on DECOTHERM™ 260 E are easily overcoatable with water based coatings.
Recommend use
This polyester is to be cured with melamine resins such as hexamethoxymethyl melamine (HMMM).
Recommended curing catalyst : DECOTHERM™ 256 E
Solvent that can be used is tripropylene glycol (TPG).

DECOTHERM™ 260 E can be available in drums or IBC’s.
Shelf life from date of production is typically 24 months.
The varnish should be stored at temperatures ideally between 10 and 30°C. The packaging should be kept tightly closed and stored in dry conditions.
An increase in viscosity is possible if the varnish is stored in wrong conditions or for an extended period of time.
