Metal decorating varnish
DECOTHERM™ 1720 C is a metal decorating varnish that developed for inks used on drawn aluminum cans printed on a spindle press. It is used in conventional steel and tin plate lithographic inks due to its fast cure rate. This can be of value in lowering the oven temperature or increasing the speed through the oven. A typical bake schedule of 300 ºF for 10 minutes can be reduced to 3 minutes. Inks are best formulated with 0.5-1% manganese drier.

Shelf life and storage conditions
Shelf life from date of production is typically 6 months.
The varnish should be stored at temperatures ideally between 10 and 30°C. The packaging should be kept tightly closed and stored in dry conditions.
An increase in viscosity is possible if the varnish is stored in wrong conditions or for an extended period of time.
