Adhesives

Snowtack® tackifier resin are aqueous, solvent-free dispersions for use in water-based adhesives. All Snowtack® grades are alkyl phenol ethoxylate (APE) free. When formulated with an adhesive polymer they boost tack and peel performance to provide an excellent balance of adhesion and cohesion to a wide range of substrates.

Pinerez® and Pineclear® tackifier resins are recommended to enhance the adhesive performance in hot-melt adhesive applications. They are stabilised, light-colored resins with excellent viscosity stability, and are compatible with a range of polymers that are widely used in packaging and pressure-sensitive adhesives. These polymers include EVA, SIS, and SBS block copolymers, natural and synthetic rubber, and acrylics. A range of Pinerez® products are also available for water-based adhesives. These low VOC Pinerez products boost adhesive performance in water-based solvent-free flooring adhesives.

Snowtack® tackifier dispersions are used in the manufacture of pressure sensitive adhesives based on acrylic, natural rubber or SBR emulsions. The typical application is for labels and tapes on both paper and film carriers. Snowtack® has excellent stability enabling the formulated adhesives to be coated on industry standard coaters at high speed.

Snowtack® tackifier dispersions are also used in water-based contact adhesives based on acrylic, natural or synthetic rubber emulsions. Typical application is for foam bonding in mattress and furniture assembly. Formulating with specific designed Snowtack dispersions will boost tack and peel adhesion of the applied contact adhesive.

A range of Pinerez® tackifier resins are available for water-based flooring adhesives in combination with acrylic, VAE or SBR polymer emulsions. The flooring adhesives are formulated by the addition of liquid Pinerez® , or Pinerez® resin melt, to the polymer emulsion. Typical use is to bond floor coverings such as PVC, polyolefin or carpet to the floor surface. The addition of the Pinerez® tackifier improves the tack and peel properties of the applied adhesive.

Pinerez® and Pineclear® rosin ester tackifier resins are recommended to enhance the adhesive performance in hot-melt adhesive applications. They are stabilised, light-colored resins with excellent viscosity stability and have excellent compatibility with a range of polymers including EVA, SIS, and SBS block copolymers. Typical applications for a tackified EVA hot melt adhesives are packaging, bookbinding and wood bonding whilst the tackified pressure sensitive hot melts are applied to labels and tapes.
